Distance Mode
The Master of Applied Statistics and Master of Biostatistics courses are being offered externally in distance mode, in addition to the usual face-to-face mode of tuition. Some preliminary details are provided below, but more information is continually being added.
- Students will receive
- printed course notes
- assignments through the post.
- Interaction with instructors will be via
- Web-based discussion lists
- fax and phone when necessary
- Students will be required to have:
- access to a personal computer capable of running modern statistical software
- reliable e-mail or fax access
There may be a residential component in some of the units.
Student versions of the statistical software are available. Individual course pages should be consulted for information on what software is required.
Internet access, while highly desirable, will not initially be essential.
However there will be regularly maintained Web pages:
- for the program
- for each subject
- for dealing with frequently asked questions.
